jwn has been great for me.
i think i have deprogrammed pretty quick so far compared to many with all their loved ones in.
i am enjoying meeting up with posters off the board and fbing some too.
It could be a good start to take things easy. But I think things are easier now then when I became inactive almost 25 years ago! No iternet to connect to people with. But yes.....you are very straightforward, I think it is wise to be a bit careful with new contacts.
You could also get a new hobby, I stated with music when I became inactive!

I think secret/closed Facebook groups are a good place to meet new people. Of course JWN is good, but here we are anonymous. I am sure there are some FB groups in Britain. I know there is a lot of nice britsh people here at JWN, understand you've got to know some of them. That's a good start! :-)
I wish you the best with new friends.
the swedbank is promoting the sale of the former sweden branch:.
http://beskrivningar.capitex.se/objdesc.aspx?guid=42vin3cu91omqg5m&typ=cmfastighet&skin=swedbankkf.
it includes some nice pictures.... .
Sweden is now operated frm the danish bethel.
I think it will be very difficult to sell the property/facilities unless they accept a very low price. It's situated outside a small town , Arboga, not a very attractive area.
The "old" swedish bethel was situated an a suburb of Stockholm, and was easy to sell. The old Betel in Jakobsberg is nowdays Santa Maria kyrkcentrum! (Saint Mary's church center) :-D
maybe its just me , i`m just curious as to how many people on this site are from australia as i am .
how many from germany , italy , zambia , etc.
etc.. do two or three "countries " seem to dominate the threads ?
I am one of the 0.67 % posting from Sweden! :-)
if satan is the #1 apostate, and apostates are not to be talked to, why then did jesus even talk to him?.
why did jesus, if he is supposed to be our example, even talk to him?.
why doesn't the bible say "and satan tried to talk to jesus, and jesus ignored him.
Jesus did not know the rules written by Paul and James! Those rules were written after his death!
i understand that they claim to have the responsibility to preach to every corner of the earth, so they can encourage armageddon to come quickly.
(matthew 24:14 "and this good news of the kingdom will be preached in all the inhabited earth for a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come.
what rationale do they have, for keeping track of their hours and literature placements?
So, if the report is beneficial to check up yhe spiritual status of each JW, why not report how many times a month they pray? How can any one believe that placed litterature or RV's is a signt of spiritual health?
Or...could it possibly have to do with guilt? Not so many hours should mke the JW feeling bad?
Oh, I remeber the first time I reported 0 , in fact it will be 25 years aago next month. I feeled so liberated when I told the secretary "Nothing to report, sir" :-)
read this in another thread,,,,,,,,,feb 2014 wt.
there, they cast doubt on the application of daniel's 70 weeks prophecy to being fulfilled with christ.. "could the first-century jews have calculated the time of the messiahs arrival on the basis of the prophecy of the 70 weeks recorded at daniel 9:24-27 ?
while that possibility cannot be ruled out, it cannot be confirmed.
"If the timing of the 70 weeks had been correctly understood in the first century C.E., one would think that the apostles and other first-century Christians would have referred to it as proof that the promised Messiah had arrived right on time in the person of Jesus Christ. However, there is no evidence that the earliest Christians did so.
Another factor is worth noting. Gospel writers often pointed out that certain prophecies found in the Hebrew Scriptures were fulfilled in Jesus Christ. (Matt. 1:22, 23; 2:13-15; 4:13-16) Yet, not one of them connects Jesus’ appearance on earth with the prophecy of the 70 weeks."
Aw 1971 12/8 p8 (one of many references)"
So..God gave the Jewish people a profecy (trough Daniel) about when the Messiah should arrive/be born.......but everyone failed to understand that prophecy......hmmm, that's a bit tricky......a omniscient and omnipotent God should be able to do better
Not even the gospel wrtires seemed to know about it and............not even Jesus......he didn't say anything about it.........why on earth didn't he help some more jews understand that he was the Messiah? Was he afraid that they wouldn't crucify him then?
By the way...the prophecy about Christ's return was a fiasco aswell.......the WTS did not understand that 1914 was the year until the begining of the 1930's. Old YHWH has some communication problems!
pages 1766-1767 of the 2013 nwt states that the message of the bible is gods right to rule.. given that the wts declares that gods kingdom rule began in 1914, one would suspect that this would feature.
instead, there is a vague reference to something that supposedly happened about 1914.. here's the picture:.
http://www.jwstudies.com/2013_nwt__pages_1766__1767.jpg.
About one or two generations after about 1914............. around 2520 years after ..about 607 BC. Should we expext some new light in WT chronology?
thus asks my beloved and slow-on-the-uptake jw hubby, who is finding it increasingly difficult to drag himself out the door.
so far, i've tried to avoid sarcastic comebacks (i'ts boring and useless!
duh!
"Seriously, I think I am better off giving him more and more opportunities just to DO what he naturally loves doing. He'll never figure out why."
Just two thoughts...I hope I am not offensive, but sometimes I get the impression that you look upon your husband as an very infantile person....OK, it's your marriage. I am sure you treat him nice...at least sometimes And...could it be that his lack of self awareness is related to him being a JW?
